Privacy Policy

The short version
- What you type into your scan (names, relatives, states) and your claim tracker stays in your own browser. It is not sent to or stored on our servers.
- If you use AI Claim Help, the claim details you type are sent to our AI provider to write your filing plan. We don't keep them.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
Who we are
OwedToday (owedtoday.com) is operated by Plugg Mobile LLC, a California limited liability company ("OwedToday," "we," "us"). OwedToday helps you find unclaimed money that may belong to you. OwedToday is not a government agency, does not file claims for you, and does not connect to state systems.
Information you enter that stays on your device
When you build a search list or track claims, you may enter:
- Your full legal name and other names (maiden names, nicknames, misspellings)
- Businesses you own or owned (optional)
- Deceased relatives you may inherit from (optional, OwedToday Pro)
- States you have lived or worked in
- Claims you add to your tracker, such as where you found money, who reported it, the amount, and the name on record
This information is saved only in your browser's local storage on your device so the app remembers it between visits. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot see it. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for owedtoday.com.

To keep OwedToday Pro unlocked, we store a signed access pass in your browser. It identifies your purchase, not you personally.
How we use information
- To build your search list and run the app on your device
- To provide AI Claim Help when you ask for it
- To process one-time payments
- To credit referrals
- To keep the site secure and working, and to comply with law
Service providers
We use these providers only to run OwedToday. Each processes information under its own privacy policy and terms:
- Netlify: website hosting and server functions
- Stripe: payment processing, one-time billing, and fraud prevention
- Anthropic: the AI model behind Claim Help
- Google Fonts: loads the fonts used on the site, which shares your IP address with Google
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers.
What OwedToday costs
Searching for and claiming money through official state and federal sources is always free, and you never need OwedToday to do it. OwedToday's search list is free. OwedToday Pro is an optional one-time purchase ($19.99 once, no subscription) for the extra help described on the site. OwedToday does not take any percentage of money you recover.
Data retention
- Scan and tracker data: kept only in your browser until you clear it. We hold no copy.
- Claim Help details: not stored by us after your plan is returned. Our AI provider may retain request data for a limited period under its own policies for safety and abuse monitoring.
- Purchase and payment records: kept by Stripe and by us as long as needed to provide the service and to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own policies.
Security
OwedToday uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic, keeps payment details with Stripe rather than on our systems, and limits what our servers can access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because your scan data lives on your device, anyone with access to your browser can see it, so protect your device accordingly.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell or share it)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To make a request, email privacy@owedtoday.com. We will verify your request using the email tied to your purchase and respond within 45 days. You may also use an authorized agent. Since most of your information is stored only on your device, you can delete it yourself at any time by clearing your browser data.
Children
OwedToday is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. OwedToday Pro purchases are for adults 18 and older.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will make it clear on the site before it takes effect.
